I live right by the coast,
so the sea and the coastline have a huge influence on me in terms of creativity.
Every day I walk along the coast, and the sea has never been the same colour on two consecutive days. The prehistoric remains at Rock-a-Nore, the delicate life-forms in the rock pools, and the industrial routine of the beach launched fishing boats, all manage to exert a complementary charm.
Yes - Colin named this one too! This is a rough flourite, captured in a net of silver wire and supported by rock crystal, stick pearl, silver swirls and beautiful green Apatite. The idea was to make something which looked like the bubbly foamy wavelets on the shore (I think I had a more tropical place than Hastings in mind at the time, though!)

Ceramic beads, plus brass and copper mix here with fresh water pearls and rose quartz to give a tightly packed form to this bangle - all coiled with 30 feet of hair thin wire - inspired by an Eni Oken design.

Seashell
Pendant
£30
The central part of this pendant is the core spiral of a sea shell, which has been polished to bring out its subtle natural colours. It looks very much like a rose or a lily, and is surrounded by small freshwater pearls and gemstones, together with pieces of coral and sometimes other tiny seashells. These pendants are popular and though I make quite a few of them, no two are ever identical. Some have woven wire panels around them and all are asymetric organic pieces. The pictures above show a couple of different versions.
Marshlands
Bangle
£95
I live close to Romney Marsh and the soft green tints of these aquamarines reflect the colours of the marsh when the mist is rising from it and being burnt off by the early morning sun. The wildlife on the marsh is extensive, not just the sheep which you can see from the train, but the hugely diverse numbers of birds, small mammals, insects and of course, frogs - you can see that a particularly tiny one made it on to the bangle.
This is of course, another Eni Oken inspired bangle - she is generous with her design ideas and discoveries and many aspiring jewellery artists have much to thank her for - including me.
Pink Mangano, peruvian opal, rose quartz, garnets, goldstone, pearls, seashells, coral and lots and lots of silver - this is beautiful, contemporary, heavy and very, very eyecatching! Plus - it is shaped like a fish!
