.....As in treasure trove  - something found, something unexpected, something lost a long time ago and reclaimed.  These pieces are inspired by history, both  general and personal.

Named after one of Colin’s paintings (see the links page). This piece looks to me like it should have a function - my father used to make instruments for looking at deep space - and somehow this looks like it should be able to guide a boat by pointing it at the stars. It measures approximately 1.25 inches in length excluding the woven bail, which measures half an inch.

First of all - I’m sorry about the name - my partner named it and it seems to have stuck! This is a soft pink piece of rough rose quartz in a silver net, with pearls,coral rose quartz and garnet around it. Very warm, summery and feminine..

Wouldn’t you like to find this out in a muddy field somewhere near an old Celtic, Bronze Age or Roman settlement? This is a pendant of a  nugget of howlite, which is frequently used dyed as a more affordable and less fragile replacement for turquoise. The beautiful blue colour works so well against the warm copper wire, which has been flattened in a mill to to give the curls extra dimension

Delicately hand twisted silver wire wrapped around a nugget of amber, with woven sections and a woven bail attached to a fine silver chain

Chunks of rose quartz,  with cherry quartz, Swarowski pearls and tumbled garnet make the centrepiece of this necklace. The wrapped links contain rose quartz and rock crystal and the S clasp is handmade in Bali silver.

These are dark faceted amethysts - absolutely gorgeous purple - although it is hard to capture their true colour in a photograph. The links between are chain maille Byzantine links and the toggle clasp is Bali silver. A beautiful gem teamed with a medieval technique. I think chain maille will be featuring more and more in my designs in the future - it is absorbing to work on and feels wonderfully slinky when it is complete.
